Welded Silos: These are fully welded and manufactured as a single unit in a factory, then hoisted into place as a whole at the construction site. Their wall panels feature a continuously welded structure, providing good sealing performance, and are suitable for long-term, fixed locations. Since the silo cannot be disassembled, transportation is subject to restrictions such as road width and bridge height limits, and feasibility must be carefully assessed.
Modular Silos: These are assembled on-site by bolting together standardized curved panels prefabricated in a factory. This design allows for flexible configuration based on actual site conditions, making it particularly suitable for mountainous or remote projects with limited transportation access. Once disassembled, they can be reused, meeting the rotation needs of multiple construction sites.
Bottom Structure: Cement silos are typically designed with either a conical or flat bottom, equipped with a discharge port that connects to a screw conveyor or pneumatic conveying system. The conical bottom design facilitates the smooth discharge of cement under its own weight, reducing residual buildup.
When selecting a silo, factors such as transportation conditions, installation site, service life, and turnover frequency must be considered.
